After 50 years of being a licensed real estate broker I’m taking time to enjoy life as a retiree, but I’m happy to continue my association with Scout South Properties as Associate Broker Emeritus and Consultant. I want to be able to share my experience with the active agents and contribute to the excellent service that Scout South provides for its clients.
I’ve lived most of my 75 years as a resident of South Baldwin, moving away only to attend the University of Alabama and to serve as an officer in the US Army. Over the years I’ve seen the area grow from a sleepy coastal farming area to an active and thriving destination for new residents, businesses and retirees.
As a licensed real estate broker in our beautiful area, I have assisted thousands of clients in the sale of homes, land, and commercial properties. I loved to help my clients buy or sell property and realize their plans or dreams. I learned that client satisfaction is the key to success in real estate, and I strove to make sure that my clients were given nothing less than the most professional and ethical representation.
Although many of my clients were seasoned real estate investors, many of the families I served were buying or selling real estate for the first time and needed special attention to help them understand the intricacies of presenting their property, making or receiving an offer to purchase, negotiating a contract and moving toward an uncomplicated closing. I got a great feeling when I could assist these clients in making their first real estate experience a positive one. With more experienced clients I always wanted to make their buying or selling experience go quickly and seamlessly from offer to closing, making sure that I gave them the very best service with the least number of complications.
As a REALTOR® I earned several professional designations, including Certified Residential Specialist, Accredited Buyers Representative, Seniors Real Estate Specialist, Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource, and Graduate of the Alabama Real Estate Institute.
I’ve had the honor of serving the area as board member and president of the South Baldwin United Way, board member of the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, member and chairman of the City of Foley Library Advisory Board, Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 99 of the Boy Scouts of America, and member of Baldwin County’s Bicentennial Steering Committee.
I’ve served as a member and president of the Foley Rotary Club and am a multiple recipient of Rotary’s Paul Harris Fellowship award. I led month-long Group Study Exchange Teams to São Paulo Brazil and to the Rhone-Alps region of France.
I have been listed in “Outstanding Young Men of America” and “Who’s Who in the South and Southwest,” and am an honorary Kentucky Colonel. I have been a certified SCUBA diver and licensed aircraft pilot.
